Getting the App

Verify the listing, then install

Shadowrocket is available only through the App Store. First, check that the product page is visible in your account’s storefront, then verify the app identity, price, and device compatibility. Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements.

iPhone

Verify the listing and make your purchase using your own App Store account. When establishing a connection for the first time, the system may ask to add a VPN configuration; confirm that Shadowrocket initiated the request before authorizing it. Installation is only the first step—you’ll also need to import your own existing subscription or server details.

iPad

If you’ve already purchased Shadowrocket with the same Apple ID, find and download it from Purchased on your iPad. App purchase and configuration transfer are separate processes. The landscape layout may differ from the portrait view in tutorials; use interface labels such as Home, Config, and Settings to find your way.

Shadowrocket is also available through the App Store on Mac and Apple TV. Refer to the App Store listing for compatibility and system requirements.

Configuration Guide

From existing connection details to rules and diagnostics

Start by verifying your server details, then decide how requests should be handled. The six sections below cover where to find each feature, when to use it, and what to check. Rule snippets illustrate matching logic; they are not complete configurations for every user.

First Connection

Get started with Shadowrocket in three steps

These steps assume that the app is installed and you already have your own subscription or server details. First establish a connection you can verify, then add rules or on-demand conditions. This makes it easier to see the effect of each change.

Add a Server or Subscribe

Open Add Server from Home. For a single server, fill in the fields for the corresponding Type. For an existing subscription, select Subscribe and paste the complete link. After saving, return to Home and confirm the expected entries appear in the SERVER group. If the list is empty, resolve the import or update issue before changing rules. Use Scan QR Code only with your own existing details.

Choose a Global Routing Mode

Select the server you want to test, then check Global Routing. To route requests using rules, choose Config and confirm an active configuration is available on the Config page. To troubleshoot the proxy route, use Proxy as appropriate for your test; Direct uses a direct connection. The mode determines how traffic is handled, while the selected server determines the connection destination. They are separate settings. Note your current selections so you have a clear baseline for comparison.

Connect and Verify Requests

Turn on the connection switch at the top of Home and approve the VPN configuration when prompted by the system. Once connected, run Connectivity Test, then visit the destination you need and check the request log. A connected status doesn’t mean every site is being routed as expected. If something fails, first distinguish between “connection not established” and “specific request failed.” Keep the error text, change one variable at a time, and test again.

Purchase and App Authenticity

Verify the app identity and separate the purchase from the service

Shadowrocket is a closed-source commercial app. Verify the authentic app using its App Store product page: check the developer, official icon, and app ID. Confirm the price, compatibility, and purchase terms on the same page.

Three Checks to Verify the App

Developer: Shadow Launch Technology Limited

App ID 932747118 Authentic App Store app One-time purchase

Matching name? Check these details too

When you find Shadowrocket in search results, open its product page and check the developer’s full name against the official app icon shown here. Verify the app ID using id932747118 in the product page URL. Don’t rely on search ranking, a similar name, or a promotional image alone. Confirm all three details match before purchasing. If the information doesn’t match, return to the app verification page and reopen the specified product listing.

App Store Availability and Account Region

App Store listings vary by account storefront. Your device language and current location don’t necessarily indicate which storefront you’re using. If you can’t find the app, first check the account used for Media & Purchases and its country or region, then confirm the product page is available in that storefront. Before changing your region, review the system’s listed requirements, such as account balance, existing subscriptions, and payment methods. A page that won’t open, empty search results, and a failed purchase are different issues. Keep the specific error message when troubleshooting rather than treating them all as app problems.

One-Time Purchase and Price

The US storefront price is about US$2.99 as a one-time purchase. The current App Store listing shows the actual price, taxes, and final charge; other storefronts display local currencies. Buying the client ≠ buying a service plan. Your purchase provides a license to use the app. Connection details, including subscriptions or server information, must come from your own service provider. This guide does not provide, sell, or recommend servers or subscriptions; it explains how to verify the listing, import your existing details, and check your settings.

Check Purchase Restoration and Configuration Recovery Separately

iPhone and iPad users can get the app from their Purchased history using the same Apple ID. When switching devices or reinstalling, sign in to the App Store with the account used for the purchase, find Shadowrocket in Purchased, and download it again. If the listing asks you to pay, check the account and purchase history first. Being able to download the app again doesn’t mean your subscription, servers, or configuration have been restored. After opening the app, check Home, Config, and Settings in turn, and reimport your own details if needed. Family Sharing eligibility depends on the App Store listing and account settings.

Check the App Store for Updates and Compatibility

Update Shadowrocket through the App Store. You can use automatic updates if enabled in your system settings, or check for updates in the store. Keep important configurations before updating. If connection behavior changes afterward, first check whether your previous selections are still active, then review the in-app settings. Always refer to the App Store listing for system requirements; this guide does not list requirements that may change. Check purchase, payment, and account status in Apple’s system interfaces. Review routing, imports, and connection behavior in Shadowrocket.
